Dance enthusiasts will have their taste buds tantalised with delicious visual delights for the announcement of the return of this year’s House of Suarez Vogue Ball in Liverpool.
The date is confirmed as Saturday 10 October 2015, tickets are on sale now and the theme is set as The Sugar Ball – giving Vogue Ball fans plenty of time to whet their appetite and create the most mouth-watering, eye-popping costume to wear on the night.
This is the sixth consecutive Vogue Ball, and this year’s event will see the event return to hugely popular venue Camp and Furnace, located in Liverpool’s creative Baltic Quarter. Previous Vogue Balls at Camp and Furnace have seen more than 1,000 people attend.
Ian Richards from Camp and Furnace commented:
“It’s a real pleasure to welcome back the House of Suarez Vogue Ball to Camp and Furnace, its spiritual home. Hosting the Vogue Ball is always a real highlight for us – creative, original and always totally inspired. The Voguers can look forward to a real sweet treat.”
The Sugar Ball will also see the return of host with the most, Rikki Beadle-Blair who admits it’s his favourite event of the year.
Now an international sensation, the multi-award winning House of Suarez Vogue Ball is a dance event like no other in the UK – where club culture meets high art.
Last year’s Space Oddity Vogue Ball took guests to another dimension. This year it’s all about over indulgence; sugar and spice and all things nice! Or will it be more of a case of naughty but nice? The increasingly popular Vogue Ball is the dance event to end all other dance events, giving Voguers the ultimate sugar rush of all things fierce and fabulous, whether they’re hard boiled or a bit more of a soft centre.
Vogueing often imitates the perfect lines and flexibility of model poses seen in magazines such as Vogue, the fashion magazine from which the dance style took its name.
The race is now on to find the best Vogue teams [known as ‘Houses’] battle it out in a fight for ultimate dance supremacy. Last year’s event saw a record number of ‘Houses’ participating. Already confirmed for the 2015 Vogue Sugar Ball are House of Cards, House of Rare and House of LIPA. This year, organisers also welcome back the House of Shoqlat from the Netherlands.
Due to the success of the Vogue Ball in Liverpool, the concept has now been taken to Manchester. The recent Vogue Mini Ball sold out three weeks before – a positive sign for Voguers across the North West.
Darren Suarez, Artistic Director of House of Suarez, commented:
“I can’t believe we are now planning our sixth Vogue Ball in Liverpool. We have grown and developed the event, establishing it as a key highlight in the social calendar, but now we’ve also completed our second year in Manchester with the sell-out Mini Vogue Ball.
“This year’s Sugar Ball theme will give Voguers the opportunity to let their creative juices flow with all things sugar, and I’m sure some will throw in some spice for good measure. We’re also delighted to announce that the ball will return to Camp & Furnace, a favourite venue of Vogue Ball audiences and performers.
“The Vogue Ball is unique in that it is a celebration of gay culture born in New York, with fashion and theatre binding together extravagance and severity. We are thrilled that we have now become one of the biggest Vogue Balls in the country.”
