Digital kiosk and sign manufacturer Evoke says it has won new multi-million pound deals with Premier Inn and Subway as it reports record annual revenues.

Evoke, which operates from its headquarters and manufacturing facility at Bromborough in Wirral, was founded by Dean Ward and Neil Clark. Evoke delivers digital and interactive products, such as kiosks and signage, to retail and hospitality businesses.

Clients include McDonald’s, JD Sports, Bibliotheca and Google. Now it has announced it has delivered automated hotel check-in and concierge for hotel chain Premier Inn – part of Whitbread – in a contract worth £4m.

Evoke, which employs more than 100 people, has also won a major contract with Subway and rolled-out its technology in 980 sites so far as part of a Europe-wide deployment.

Following a visit to the Wirral HQ by Justin Madders, MP for Ellesmere Port and Bromborough and Minister for Employment Rights, the company issued a trading update for the full year to March 31, 2024. It reveals a 20% rise in annual revenues to £34m.

However, the business did not reveal pre-tax profits / losses. That information will be available when it posts its full accounts to Companies House by the end of 2025.

In January LBN reported Evoke had revealed pre-tax losses of £1.6m for its previous financial year. This was higher than the £683,000 of pre-tax losses in the year before that. The company blamed this on increased component costs and new senior hires.

This week Evoke said it was expanding its reach into new sectors, including betting and gaming which now accounts for more than £2m of revenues.

In 2018 SME investment specialist BGF ploughed £6m into Evoke and in 2024 it followed this up with a further £3m cash injection.

Evoke chief executive Peter Edwards said: “This past year has seen us expand into new sectors, continue to invest in our people and win landmark contracts, with BGF’s long-term support playing a crucial role in enabling that growth.

“As a business, we are punching above our weight because of our agility, speed-to-market and commitment to service which is attractive to our blue-chip client base.

“We’ve had a strong year but the future growth potential is significant as we continue to expand into North America, invest in talent and software development.”

Justin Madders added: “Evoke is a great example of a local company with national and international impact. It’s exciting to see the results of sustained innovation.”
