Hungarian airline Wizz Air already operates nine routes out of Liverpool and is now adding two more European destinations. Tony McDonough reports
Wizz Air is adding two new destinations from Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA).
Despite the ever-changing restrictions being imposed on the aviation sector due to COVID-19, Wizz Air is looking to grow out of Liverpool with a service to the Moldovan capital Chisinau and a reintroduction of twice weekly flights to the Romanian city of Cluj. The Hungarian carrier says its service to Iasi, also in Romania will now continue to operate through to winter.
This adds to the nine European destinations already operated by Wizz Air out of LJLA. Ryanair also announced a new Eastern European route out of Liverpool last week despite cutting its overall capacity.
The new Chisinau service will operate twice-weekly from the end of October. The city is known for its neoclassical Nativity Cathedral, many churches and is home to a number of national museums and beautiful parks.
