With Everton’s new £750m stadium set to welcome spectators for the first time work is to start on the paved walkway known as ‘Everton Way’.

Preparatory installations will begin from Monday 20 January, with the scheme set to be completed in time for the opening of the 2025/26 season. During this time, thousands of granite stones will be laid to cover a large area outside the South Stand.

These will celebrate generations of Evertonians’ births, marriages, anniversaries and loved ones. These personalised stones will be laid in and around a series of larger stones representing Everton Giants.

Until completion, fan access to Everton Way will understandably be restricted, although it should be noted this will not affect access to the South Stand for the upcoming test events at the 52,888-capacity arena.

Earlier this month Everton announced details of two test events at the stadium with the under-18s and under-21s playing in front of tens of thousands of spectators.

This area will be fenced off for safety and supporters will be unable to view Everton Way until the scheme is fully laid and the stadium is open and operational. The club will provide further information, in due course.

However, Everton will aim to bring regular progress on the installation through official Club channels, including the website and social media, throughout the duration of the process.

A limited number of engraved granite stones are still available within the recently-expanded final phase.

In addition, supporters also have the chance to purchase a special replica stone as an accompanying memento. Presented in an Everton-branded display box, these replica stones can be proudly exhibited at home or at a workplace.

All replica stones have the option of an official, personalised A4 presentation certificate.Stones for Everton Way’s larger footprint, available in a range of sizes and designs, can be ordered by clicking here.

Everton formally took control of the stadium from main contractor Laing O’Rourke just before Christmas. The company began construction on the project three-and-a-half years ago.
