14 new solicitors emerge from Weightmans’ trainee intake
Liverpool-based law firm has revealed an 85% success rate from its 2015 group of trainees and they will now work across the practice’s UK-wide office network. Tony McDonough reports
Liverpool law firm Weightmans says 85% of its national trainee intake from 2015 are now working as newly-qualified solicitors with the business.
Headquartered in Old Hall Street in the city centre Weightmans also has offices in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Glasgow, Knutsford, Leicester, and London, employing more than 1,400 people.
Of the 14 newly-qualified solicitors – Kevin Howard, Marie O’Grady, Matthew Foden, Joshua Nock, Jade Clarke, Pamela McGuigan, Grace Quigley, Sam Harris, Emily Sharples, Sophie Wortham, Krishna Patel, Sarah Rider, Amanda Kayes, Jack Farrar – five are based in Liverpool.
They will work in a variety of departments across the firm, including corporate and commercial, property and litigation.
Sarah Littlemore, partner and head of knowledge services, manages the trainee programme at Weightmans. She said: “We’re encouraged by the fact that our retention rate has remained high and consistent with previous years.
“As Weightmans continues to grow it’s crucial we not only attract the best talent but nurture it here by enabling progression and development within the firm.”
