£250 million framework contest launched by Merseytravel

Merseytravel, the regional passenger transport system for Liverpool and the surrounding area, has commenced the formal procurement process for the multi-disciplinary framework for the next four years as it prepares for another development programme.

A variety of of lots will cover jobs under highways, surveying engineering, landscape engineering, urban planning, architecture, project management, scientific and technical consulting, and testing and analysis services.

As many as 100 firms are expected to be appointed to work on a range sites that include work with tunnels, rail track, naval architecture, highways, buildings, bridges, as well as other infrastructure.

Merseytravel is halfway through its station renewal programme and has recently issued a 30-year blueprint for the further redevelopment and expansion of the Merseytravel network as far as North Wales and throughout Cheshire.

Merseytravel’s current estate comprises offices, bus stations, ferry terminals, public attractions (such as the Spaceport and the U-Boat Experience), engineering workshops, bus and rail park and ride facilities, both the Mersey Tunnels (Kingsway & Queensway), as well as ventilation stations and public spaces.

The deadline for expressions of interst and request for document to apply is 4PM Friday 31st October.
