Movie marks one year of The Sunday Echo

To mark one year since the launch of the Sunday edition of the Liverpool ECHO, acclaimed film producer Colin McKeown has produced short, comic trailer ‘Sunday Echo ‘The Movie’.

The piece playfully depicts posh couple, ‘The Southerns’ adjusting to life in Liverpool. The wife consults a doctor as concerns grow for her husband as he gradually ‘turns scouse’ when he reads the Sunday ECHO.

It is written by columnist Gary Bainbridge and stars former Brookside actors; Gillian Kearney and Simon O’Brien.

When Trinity Mirror invested in the new print title last January, it was viewed by many as a bit of a risk. However the paper sold more than 30,000 copies in its first two weeks of publication, although that number was seen to drop to around 20,700 by December.
