Hospitality entrepreneurs Meenal Abhyankar and Dhanya Kalathil will open their new Indian restaurant in Liverpool on Tuesday, May 19.

White Tiger is located at Kings Dock close to the M&S Bank Arena and Exhibition Centre Liverpool. It will create a “minimum” of 35 jobs. It is being launched by doctors and longtime friends Meenal and Dhanya.

They met as parents at the school gates. Both have spent more than 20 years working as doctors in Liverpool city region balancing demanding careers in medicine with family life. They share a mutual love for authentic Indian food and the flavours of home.

At the heart of White Tiger is a menu created by internationally acclaimed chefs Master Chefs Shipra Khanna and Anahita Dhondy. The menu is built around two concepts, Indian Soul and Hakka Fire.

Indian Soul celebrates the richness and diversity of regional Indian cuisine, reimagining comforting classics with depth, balance and elegance. Guests can expect dishes including Butter Edamame Paneer, Salli Chicken and Dal Bukana.

Hakka Fire is White Tiger’s “bold exploration” of Indo-Chinese cuisine inspired by Kolkata’s legendary Tangra district, where smoky wok-fired cooking, garlic, chilli and soy take centre stage.

It will include dishes such as Chicken Manchurian, Hot Garlic Paneer and Triple Schezewan fried rice that bring vibrant heat and high-energy flavour to the menu.

“We wanted to create something that feels true to the food we grew up with, but also reflects the way people want to dine today. Working with chefs like Shipra and Anahita has allowed us to bring together authentic flavours with a more modern approach.”

Dhanya added: “From the interiors to the menu and the overall experience, every detail has been carefully considered. We’re incredibly proud to finally open our doors and share White Tiger with Liverpool.”
