Cassell Moore expands its employment team
Liverpool based law firm Cassell Moore has expanded its employment team with the appointment of Melanie Hockenhull.
Melanie graduated in law from Oxford University and completed her training at city law firm Lovells, qualifying in 2009. She developed a keen interest in employment law during her degree and decided early on that she wanted to specialise in this area.
After qualification, Melanie spent time working at the British Dental Association and national firm Eversheds. She joins from Bramhalls, a niche employment law practice on the Wirral where she worked as a solicitor.
Since qualifying, Melanie has been instructed on the full range of employment law issues, including: drafting contracts of employment and policies; advising on disciplinary and grievance issues and overseeing the termination of employment, including advising on settlement agreements.
Melanie also has a keen interest in employment litigation, having successfully represented clients in unfair dismissal, discrimination and whistleblowing claims.
Outside of work, Melanie competes in triathlons and enjoys spending time with friends.
Commenting on Melanie’s appointment, Liz Cotton, Cassell Moore head of employment, said:
“Melanie is an experienced solicitor with an excellent track record in dealing with employment law issues. I’ve no doubt she will make a fantastic addition to the team and make a significant contribution to its future growth.”
Melanie added:
“I’m delighted to be joining Cassell Moore. In just twelve months the firm has earned an excellent reputation as an award winning legal firm. It’s clearly going places and I’m looking forward to being part of that success.”
