Tumblr enables brands and businesses to analyse customer images
Leading blogging platform and social networking website Tumblr is set to launch innovative new technology which will boost brands’ engagement with their customers and audience.
Tumblr is signing a deal with Ditto Labs – a firm that specialises in the analysis of photographic images for the purpose of generating brand data.
The technology will allow brands to search for and locate customers that are holding, eating, wearing or listening to their products.
T.R. Newcomb, head of business development at Tumblr, stated:
“If Coke wants to understand the nature of the conversation [about them on Tumblr] we can sift through and deliver it to Coke.”
Newcomb added that, currently, Tumblr are not planning on generating “anything ad-related” with the data collated.
