Morrisons choose food from Liverpool-based suppliers
Next time you’re at the supermarket deliberating delicious dim sum, there’s a chance they came from just along the road.
Liverpool-based Chinese food manufacturer, Golden Dragon, a family-owned business located at the heart of the city’s historic Chinese community, has announced a new deal with supermarket giant Morrisons that will see the oriental food specialists supplying an array of new dishes.
The company already supplies ASDA, Nisa Local, and major Chinese supermarket chain Chung Wah, but is set to add black bean ribs, char sui pork, and pork sui mai to its growing offer at Morrisons’ stores nationwide.
The Morrisons deal is a significant boost for the business that was established in the city over 25 years ago and has since grown to become one of the UK’s leading Chinese food manufacturers.
Managing Director, Perry NG, said:
“The continued investment of Morrisons in Golden Dragon is a massive vote of confidence in our brand. We know that consumers enjoy our products and we hope to carry on making them happy with the exciting new range that we have on offer.”
Liverpool has the oldest Chinese community in Europe and Mr Ng says many of his recipes have been passed through many generations of his family.
