In March, ACC Liverpool will soon welcome more than 32,000 visitors to a number of events that will generate £4.6 million in economic impact over just four days.

ACC Liverpool will be host to six incredibly diverse events over just four days, including a party political conference, a series of concerts, a boxing match and a public exhibition.

The Green Party has chosen ACC Liverpool to host its spring conference for the first time, with 1,500 delegates in attendance from 5 – 9 March. The Greens stated that they chose the BT Convention Centre for their event due to its recent expansion as they would need extra capacity to accommodate a recent surge in membership.

The entertainment aspect of ACC Liverpool will also be well-represented over the same period, with The Script performing to a sell-out crowd of 10,000 in the Echo Arena on 5 March. Spandau Ballet will be the next to take to the stage on the Saturday, followed on Sunday by The X Factor Live Tour.

On top of all this, 3,500 sports fans will turn up to watch world title fights as part of Championship Boxing which takes place on the Friday.

Last but not least, Magic: The Gathering’s Grand Prix tournament will be held in Liverpool for the first time. Based around a trading card game with millions of players worldwide, the event will include a three day exhibition in hall two of the BT Convention Centre.

And the events don’t end after this packed week: the Liberal Democrats are set to return to ACC Liverpool for their spring conference the following week, marking the coalition government partner’s third visit to Liverpool. As many as 2,500 delegates will attend the three-day event, generating a further £4.7 million in economic impact for the Liverpool city region.

“While it isn’t unusual for us to host a series of simultaneous events, this particular period is especially diverse with a varied programme across the entire venue.

“It will be all hands on all decks for all our teams, from setting up a huge production such as The Script in the arena to welcoming Green Party delegates to the convention centre for the first time.

“The flexibility of our venue and our experienced staff means we are able to host a range of events and we look forward to welcoming tens of thousands of visitors during this period -all of whom will generate significant amounts of spend in the city – with many more highlights to follow as the year progresses.

“This wide-ranging programme bodes well for the opening of our new exhibition centre which, together with Echo Arena and BT Convention Centre, forms ACC Liverpool.”
