Raising awareness of dementia
A special business breakfast is being held to raise awareness about dementia.
Childwall Councillors Ruth Hirschfield, Frank Hont and Jeremy Wolfson have organised the major neighbourhood event to promote awareness about dementia as part of a city-wide campaign.
Local businesses and community services have been invited to the briefing at Hope University on Monday 30th November to learn how they can become more dementia-friendly.
Speakers will include Councillor Gary Millar, cabinet member for business, enterprise and investment. He is also a supporter of SURF(service user reference forum), the national award winning group of people living with the condition and their family carers.
Councillor Ruth Hirschfield said:
“This will be the first community event of its kind in Liverpool. It will provide valuable information which can help businesses, their staff and people living with dementia and their families. We’re really pleased to be working towards a dementia-friendly Childwall and Liverpool.”
The free event is being supported by Liverpool Dementia Action Alliance, the Alzheimer’s Society and Hope University.
