New co-working collective space to launch on Victoria Street
The Cave, an exciting new collaborative project from Portfolio Creative Agency and Sizewell Illustration Club, will occupy part of the old Magistrates Court building on Victoria Street from February, 2016.
Based in the centre of Liverpool, the project and space will provide some of the most affordable studio and desk space for artists, freelancers and small businesses.
Tom Burnham, Lucy Roberts and Paul Waring are to manage the space on a non-for-profit basis in order to benefit the local creative community, by providing low-cost workspace for new and established businesses and opportunities to feel part of and connect with the wider business community in Liverpool
“We want to provide our occupiers with plenty of opportunities for collaboration. We had such a great time working in a co- working office before we decided to take over the space, and found it so productive and a more social way to work, that we wanted to do it ourselves.
“Our needs were simple. We wanted a friendly space to work in, where we could hold meetings with clients and work in an environment filled with other talented individuals. So this is exactly what we are offering.
“Members will get their own dedicated space, enough for a small workshop environment or desk space for one or two people. Internet is included as well as all bills and access to kitchen facilities, good coffee, a large cleaning area for ‘messy’ artists and print-makers and a communal chill-out area. The added benefit is being surrounded with people to whom you can provide your valuable skills and experience and who can do the same for you in return.”
The spaces, each 56 square feet (8ftx7ft) include a desk and chair, and cost £85 per month. The average cost for a service like this, they say, would ordinarily be much higher.
