Business lobby group Downtown in Business is to host a major conference in Liverpool this summer as part of the third International Business Festival.
On Wednesday, June 13, the organisation will host ‘Devolution, Innovation and the Business Effect’ within the festival venue at Exhibition Centre Liverpool.
It will focus on the future of the Northern Powerhouse and the Midlands Engine, with contributions from leading decision-makers and entrepreneurs from across the UK. The property market, the digital sector, creating enterprising cities, and city leadership will be the focus of the one-day event.
Held over three weeks at the 80,000 square foot Exhibition Centre Liverpool, the festival aims to attract small and medium sized businesses – from across the Liverpool city region and all over the world – who are looking to grow and explore trading opportunities.
Downtown boss Frank McKenna said: “The Northern Powerhouse and the Midlands Engine have been touted as initiatives that will re-balance and transform the economy of UK Plc.
“However, transport infrastructure aside, what positive impact can devolution have on business and economic growth? And what is the new thinking around the growth sectors and business support assets that are necessary for ambitious, innovative cities?
This conference will bring delegates face-to-face with forward-thinking industry leaders, decision-makers and entrepreneurs who are successfully navigating their way through an era of unprecedented change, disruption, and opportunity in our great cities.”
Conference tickets are free to Downtown members and includes a day pass to the International Business Festival. Speakers will be announced next week.
