EPIC Hospitality Group has secured a contract to run two Liverpool city centre hotels currently being developed by Elliot Group.

Run by hotelier Simon Beer, EPIC already operates apart hotels in the city and will also take day-to-day control of both Elliot properties – a £20m facility in Seel Street, with 128 rooms, and a £70m, 306-bedroom facility in the Baltic Triangle.

Handover of the Seel Street hotel will take place immediately. The project is close to completion and will boast rooftop hotel suites, with terraces providing unobstructed views of the city, a residents’ bar and gym.

Work on the Baltic hotel will start in October and once finished it will offer views across Liverpool’s south docks to the Welsh mountains and will also offer guests a roof-top pool, spa and lounge. Both sites will also incorporate a food and beverage offer, yet to be announced.

Mr Beer, managing director of EPIC Hospitality, said: “We’ve been at the cutting edge of the apart-hotel movement for a number of years and this deal allows us to expand our portfolio further to encompass the luxury four-star hotel experience.

“The EPIC brand’s pioneering approach is being recognised throughout the sector and is making us a go-to company for developers to partner with.

“Both the Seel Street and Baltic properties are in distinctive neighbourhoods with a dynamic vibe and, as one of Liverpool’s finest independent hotel groups, we’ll seek to reflect that character in our service offer and in the interior décor.”

The four-star Seel Street Hotel by Epic, part of Elliot Group’s wider transformation of Wolstenholme Square, is scheduled to open in November 2018.

Welcoming the appointment, Elliot Lawless of Elliot Group said: “Simon and his team have a shelf-full of awards for their outstanding hospitality and their tripadvisor reviews say it all.

“They’re a great partner who understand the Liverpool market intimately, and also how to work with historic properties like our Seel Street hotel.”

The deal with EPIC follows the ending of discussions with PVA Hospitality to manage both properties.
