National contract glazing supplier and installer, GG Glass Group, is reporting a 70% surge in annual pre-tax profit and an 18% rise in turnover.

Liverpool-based GG has filed its latest accounts at Companies House which reveal that pre-tax profit for the year to January 31, 2018, came in at more than £1.7m – up from just over £1m in 2017. Turnover was up from £14.6m to £17.3m.

GG was set up in 2008 with just a handful of staff and now employs 150 people across the UK, 25 of them in Liverpool. The firm has established itself as the “glazing installer of choice” for many main contractors, shopfitters and businesses across the country.

And director Ray Moss says it intends to push sales even higher this year with a turnover target of £21m. He added: “We are now just over a decade old and have enjoyed steady growth year-on-year.

“Contracting work accounts for around two-thirds of our business while emergency glazing largely makes up the remainder of our core work. We see this becoming an increasingly important part of our business moving forward following the departure of a number of industry competitors.”

While consolidating partnerships with leading contractors, the firm aims to develop its presence in the public sector arena, notably hospitals, healthcare centres and education facilities.

Mr Moss said: “Undoubtedly we are the go to supplier and installer of choice for many in the private commercial sector yet recognise that there are lots more opportunities for us in the public sector, which we see as an important part of our business moving forward.

“The business as a whole has had a successful year and I’m proud to see the Liverpool branch surpass its targets once again.”
