Woodside Ferry Village opened in summer 2019 within the Woodside ferry terminal building and Haku Sushi joins existing concessions which include Cowfish Smokehouse, Caffe Cream,The Refeshment Rooms and Low Slow and Dough

Japanese cuisine brand Haku Sushi is the latest food concession to join Woodside Ferry Village on Birkenhead’s waterfront.

Woodside Ferry Village opened in summer 2019 within the Woodside ferry terminal building, offering spectacular views of the Liverpool waterfront. Haku Sushi joins existing concessions which include Cowfish Smokehouse, Caffe Cream, The Refeshment Rooms and Low Slow and Dough

It will offer a range of Sushi, Noodles and Japanese dishes. Director Kris Foulger-Roberts said: “Wirral has always been an excellent place to eat and we are very excited to now be a place for food lovers to discover. Woodside Ferry Village is a particularly special place to trade and we are looking forward to being part of it.” 

The menu will include classic Japanese favourites such Askatsu Curry, Ramen and Gyoza, together with some delicious Japanese street food including Takoyaki. The sushi menu will have staple ingredients like Salmon, but will also have specials based on seasonal fish and seafood.

It will also include some hot items accompanying the Sushi cold dishes, which has proved popular with Sushi customers. Haku Sushi produce is sourced by developing and maintaining good relationships with both Japanese and local based suppliers, taking advantage of seasonality and excellent quality that is available.

When asked about his love of cooking and what directed him towards Sushi, Kris added: “From the age of 17 I have worked as a chef in many restaurants covering a number of different cuisines, but as soon as I discovered Sushi and Japanese food I was hooked. For the last 14 years I have found real satisfaction working in Japanese kitchens, so when the opportunity arose to open my own I was ecstatic.
