Tech firm opens first base in Liverpool
IT, telephone and broadband business MRD Technologies opens its first office in Liverpool after winning a string of Merseyside clients. Tony McDonough reports
Cheshire tech firm MRD Technologies has opened its first Liverpool office after winning nine new clients in Merseyside.
Based in Northwich, MRD provides SMEs with IT support, phone systems, mobiles and broadband. Directors Mark Ralph, Richard Delooze and Derek Shannon founded MRD Technologies after leaving their corporate roles.
Its new Liverpool base is in Rodney Street in the Georgian Quarter of the city centre. The street has traditionally been associated with private medical practitioners.
Derek Shannon, who is originally from Liverpool, said: “I was born in this amazing city. It’s been a dream to expand the business here after just three years working from our office in Cheshire.”

Clients in Liverpool include the Boudoir Hotel in Wood Street, Wongs Jewellers, Rodney Chambers, Open Awards, Tuffx Processed Glass, Custom Glass, Promart and Zim UK on Derby Square. In Wirral it also looks after Specsavers Birkenhead and Upton (Wirral.
Mark Ralph added: “We are delighted that the word has spread so organically through word of mouth about the way we do business. Over the past year we have seen our satisfaction scores soar.
“We have welcomed six new team members to help with the demand for the services we offer – we are delighted with how business has progressed.”
