New 16,000 sq ft BOXPARK ‘all-day dining and entertainment venue’ to open in the Baltic Triangle in Liverpool in 2023, creating 150 jobs. Tony McDonough reports
Cains Brewery Village will be the location for a new 16,000 sq ft all-day dining and entertainment venue opening in Liverpool next year.
BOXPARK will open its first outlet outside of London. It has agreed a 15-year lease on Canning Hall with Cains Brewery Village owners. It is scheduled to open late in 2023 and will offer capacity for 400 diners indoors plus 200 outdoors.
There will be a large internal space with units set over the ground floor, a small internal mezzanine, and an external terrace. BOXPARK Liverpool will include 10 kitchen units, three internal bars with additional external bars. There will be a 5,430 sq ft external terrace to offer al fresco dining and smaller events.
This new venue aims to champion local businesses and talent with opportunities for both independent and established food operators, as well as artists, creators and performers from Liverpool. BOXPARK already has sites in Shoreditch, Croydon and Wembley.

BOXPARK Shoreditch, originally coined ‘the world’s first pop up mall’, launched in 2010. It fused the concepts of the modern street food market and the pop-up retail mall.
Andy Delaney, director and head of the Liverpool office of property regeneration consultants AspinallVerdi, initiated the arrival of BOXPARK to Cains Brewery Village.
He subsequently advised on key elements of the deal, including drafting, negotiating and agreeing heads of terms of the agreement and additional negotiations on lease terms. And he liaised with BOXPARK and law firm Brabners.
