A production of A Christmas Carol will be one of the highlights of the festive season in Old Swan.
Tiny Giants Production Company are performing the Dickens classic to an audience of children aged seven plus and their families on Saturday 12th December at the Joseph Lappin Centre, Mill Lane.
It will give children, who would otherwise not have had the opportunity, the chance to see a Christmas show.
Local businesses including Tesco and Home Bargains, are supporting this event by donating selection boxes for children. The ward councillors are funding the production through the Mayoral Neighbourhood Fund.
This is one of a number of events for Old Swan residents in the run-up to Christmas.
On 7th December older people will enjoy an afternoon of entertainment by local artistes and share a meal at the Devonshire House Hotel.
And to ensure that people stay warm and safe, a winter warmer event will be held on Monday 30th November at All Saints Church, Broadgreen Road , 11am-2pm, when there will be advice about the importance of keeping active and healthy in the winter months and there will be information on a range of subjects including energy efficiency, fuel poverty and benefits- and there will be some freebies for those attending.
