Each year the firm selects a chosen charity which they will fundraise for across the year.

Accountants and business advisers BDO LLP has raised £6,500 for Claire House Children’s Hospice.

Over the past 12 months the firm has fundraised for Claire House through cake sales, mud bathing and competing in Tough Mudder.

The donation is significant as it marks the total amount it costs to run Claire House for a day.

The hospice provides 24-hour respite and medical care, supporting children and young people with serious and terminal illnesses and their families from all over Merseyside, North Wales, Cheshire, West Lancashire and Isle of Man.

Beth Pochin from Claire House commented: “We are so grateful to BDO for all the time and effort they put into supporting Claire House throughout 2016, and particularly impressed with their amazing Tough Mudder team effort. Thanks to wonderful companies like BDO, we are able to continue offering vital care and support to local children and families who are going through the toughest of times.”

Throughout 2017, BDO will be fundraising for The Whitechapel Centre who work across Liverpool to prevent and resolve homelessness, social exclusion and housing poverty.
