Accountants BWMacfarlane nominated for customer care in city awards

BWMacfarlane Chartered Accountancy practice in Liverpool has been nominated in city-wide awards for their commitment to providing great customer care.

The City of Liverpool Business Awards, now in its twelfth year, is hosted by Downtown in Business and celebrates the great and the good from the business community in the Liverpool City Region. BWMacfarlane are proud to have been nominated in this year’s Best Customer Focused Business category

Formerly Bresnan Walsh and Macfarlanes, the two firms merged five years ago having identified a shared set of values and a vision that centred around providing excellent customer service. This ethos is embedded into the firm and is reflected through all areas of business practice, from creating a welcoming environment for clients with well-trained and amiable staff; to ensuring frequent client contact and providing a diverse programme of seminars, events and social gatherings.

Partner at BWMacfarlane, Peter Taaffe says:

“It is hugely rewarding to be recognised as a nominee in this category. We put a huge amount of emphasis on client and customer care at BWMacfarlane and every effort has gone into ensuring our entire team are similarly dedicated.

“We wholeheartedly believe that in order to become leaders in our field, it is about more than just doing our job. It is about going the extra mile to make sure our clients’ individual requirements are taken care of and that we are providing a service that extends beyond financial support.

“We host regular seminars and events in order to engage our clients and create an effective network. Our team know  clients individually and provide a warm and personable welcome when they visit; and our client services team do a great job of communicating with our clients in order to remind them that we are there to provide help, guidance and advice whenever it is needed – not just when we are required to.

“All of those things go a long way to cementing relationships with our clients, and I’m pleased to say that many of our clients have been with us for a very long time.”

BWMacfarlane are keen to continue to lead the way in terms of client service and believe that innovation is key in order to stay a step ahead of their competitors. The firm have plans to improve access to important help and advice, currently working with partners and suppliers to create a bespoke cloud package for accounting.

The package will be tailorable to individual client requirements and will include a ‘virtual FD’ service, which means that clients will have easy access to high-level business and financial advice from the senior team at BWMacfarlane, at a fraction of the cost of employing a full time FD.

BWMacfarlane are also committed to growing their corporate finance offer, with an emphasis on aiding with purchase and sale; as well as assisting with access to finance through new or alternative means. BWMacfarlane work with a number of clients from the charities sector, as well as business start-ups and believe that providing advice around accessing finance is an important part of their role.

Peter Taaffe adds:

“BWMacfarlane are large enough to enough to deal with the complexities of some of our larger clients, yet care equally about the needs of all our clients, irrespective of size.  We have worked hard to position ourselves not only as accountants, but as trusted advisors to our clients. To win the award for Best Customer Focussed Business would be a tremendous feat for us and due recognition to the energy that has gone into client care right across the team.

“From providing a warm welcome in our well-appointed offices on Castle Street, to tailoring events around our clients’ interests, no stone is left unturned in ensuring our clients journey with us is organised, impactful and valuable.

“Castle Street has been a fantastic home for us since our merger 5 years ago and has provided the space we needed in order to grow and realise some of our ambitions as a firm. However, over the summer, we will be looking for larger premises that match our plans for further growth and are excited to take our clients with us as we enter a new phase of our journey.”

BWMacfarlane are nominated for Best Customer Focussed Business 2016 at the City of Liverpool Business Awards. Winners will be announced at a gala-dinner at the Sefton Park Palm House on Thursday, 21st June.
