North West accountancy firm Williamson & Croft signs deal with Downing to take 3,500 sq ft office space in Liverpool commercial district. Tony McDonough reports

Accountancy firm Williamson & Croft is to move a 20-strong team into new offices in Liverpool commercial district.

W&C has signed a 10-year lease with Downing to occupy 3,500 sq ft of office space on the newly refurbished first floor of No 1 Old Hall Street. The firm is relocating from The Plaza at the other end of Old Hall Street.

Damien Loughran, partner at Manchester-based W&C, said: “We are thrilled to announce the lease of our new office in Liverpool city centre which is a testament to our firm’s commitment to the region and meeting the evolving needs of our clients.

“The fantastic location in the city’s commercial district will enhance our visibility in the region and provide a more convenient and central base for our larger team.”

An additional three office suites will also be provided ranging between 700 sq ft and 825 sq ft. This will be the last remaining, traditional office space at No.1 Old Hall Street.

Downing itself announced earlier this month it was relocating its Liverpool headquarters into No 1 Old Hall Street. It  will occupy 9,665 sq ft across the fifth and sixth floors and is relocating from Myrtle Street.

John Clegg, head of property management at Downing, added: “We are thrilled to welcome Williamson & Croft to our thriving business community at No 1 Old Hall Street.

“The firm will join a range of other professional services businesses that are making their mark in the Liverpool and North West marketplace.”

The move to the new office is scheduled for March, and Williamson & Croft is already planning its transition.
