Afternoon tea at the Royal Liver Building

People across Merseyside are being invited to share their memories of the city’s favourite landmark, as the first floor of the iconic Royal Liver Building is unveiled as a new luxury events space, which will be known as ‘The Venue at the Royal Liver Building’.

To celebrate the opening of the brand new events space, The Venue at the Royal Liver Building is inviting people with a connection to the Royal Liver Building to attend a very special afternoon tea on 25th September. Guests will be among the first to experience the stunning new events space, which will be used for corporate events, as well as private parties.

The team at the venue is urging anyone who has an interesting personal tale to tell about the Royal Liver Building to share their story, from couples who first met at the building to people who spent their entire working lives there.

Helen Connolly, Events Manager at the venue, commented:

“Built more than a century ago, the Royal Liver Building is one of the city’s most iconic heritage sites and it really does have a special place in people’s hearts.

It’s only fair that people with an interesting personal connection to the building should be among the first to experience the stunning venue.

We are looking forward to hearing those special memories and meeting some of the people whose lives have been affected by such a spectacular building. As one of the city’s most stunning new venues, I’m sure the Venue at the Royal Liver Building will be at the centre of many more special memories for the people of Liverpool in years to come.”

If you have a personal story to share about the Royal Liver Building, you can email no more than 100 words with any relevant photos, if available, to peter.kerwood@concertogroup.co.uk (for files over 3MB please use a file transfer service such as Dropbox or WeTransfer), post to Peter Kerwood, The Concerto Group, Axe and Bottle Court, 70 Newcomen Street, London SE1 1YT (please use recorded delivery if you are sending original photographs). All photos will be returned after the 25th September.

To be considered as a guest for the afternoon tea event, all stories must be received by 15th September.
