Mobile afternoon tea and baking school business Room Forty has scooped two accolades at the Northern Enterprise Awards.

Warrington-based Room Forty, founded by Jen Perry, won the awards for Best Mobile Afternoon Tea & Baking Company and Leading Northern Provider of Baking Workshops.

The new awards follow on from founder Jen’s inclusion in Good Taste magazine’s Power List of 100 Women leading the Food & Drink Industry published in 2018, winning Hospitality Provider of the Year at the Warrington Business Awards in 2018 and winning Silver in the Tiptree World Bread Awards in 2017.

She said: “I’ve created a little business that I love. I work hard and like to think that the energy and passion that I put into every bake, afternoon tea and baking class reflects in the service and product that we provide.

I have had so much wonderful support from my micro team and our customers, and it is thrilling to receive these two independently-judged awards.

We began bread making courses a couple of years ago and now run them across the North West, teaching others to make our award-winning White Delight loaf, creating a new generation of bakers.

“Our recipe is simple – ‘Give something extra. Try something new Delight in surprising your customers…and have people around you that believe in you’. Anything is possible. These awards prove it.”

The Northern Enterprise Awards cover the entire Northern region and are judged following a three-month period of scrutiny by a team of judges. The awards are sponsored by SME News.
