Liverpool orthopaedic products manufacturer and distributor Algeos says its annual pre-tax profits have almost doubled despite a slight dip in revenues.

Originally founded in Liverpool in 1881 by John Algeo as a leather dealing business, Algeos is now a manufacturer of podiatry, orthotics and footwear products and technologies. It has a global customer base and supplies hundreds of NHS trusts.

It also supplies its products to 60 countries around the world, in particular Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and Africa regions. Its Algeos Australia base in Melbourne serves Australasia.

In 2022, LBN reported that Algeos had secured a £900,000 deal to supply products across the Middle East. This deal included the supply of diabetic footwear, orthotic and prosthetic materials, foot orthotics and other consumables.
