City-centre Foodbank Appeal at NHS Health Information Centre

Liverpool Community Health NHS Trust is supporting the Central Liverpool Foodbank this December and encouraging members of the local community to get behind their appeal.

The NHS Health Information Centre (HIC) based on Hanover Street in Liverpool city centre will be acting as an official temporary collection point for the foodbank this December.

Patients and members of the public are invited to drop off donations of non-perishable tins or food and drink items at the health centre, from Monday 1st December – Friday 19th December.

The team based at the NHS Health Information Centre are keen to encourage anyone who would like to help support the foodbank to consider buying non-perishable food items to donate to the appeal whilst they are out and about in the city centre in the run up to Christmas.

Paula Murphy, Manager of the Health Information Centre for Liverpool Community Health NHS Trust explains:

“All of the food items donated into this temporary collection point at our Health Information Centre on Hanover Street will be collected distributed by the Central Liverpool Foodbank which is based at the Frontline Centre in Wavertree but supports people from across the city.

“We know that winter can be an especially difficult time for people in our local communities who are struggling, so as a team we decided to do something practical to help support those who find themselves in crisis and without food this Christmas time, and we really hope that others will be inspired to get behind this appeal too.”

The foodbank collection point at the NHS Health Information Centre will be operating from Monday to Friday between 10.00 am – 4pm, and some weekends.
