Dash bar/restaurant set to open on site of Liverpool’s former Living Room

Victoria Street outlet has retained the restaurant’s familiar stairway entrance and will offer Pan Asian influenced dishes and small plates while the bar offer Dash’s signature New York-themed cocktail list

Dash bar/restaurant will open in Victoria Street in December 2018

Liverpool’s latest bar/restaurant – Dash in Victoria Street – is set to open following a multi-million pound investment.

The outlet, being launched by owner 15 Group on Friday, December 7, is on the same site as one of the city’s most iconic former restaurants, The Living Room. The premises were also briefly the location for Sugar Hut.

15 Group has retained the restaurant’s familiar stairway entrance, leading up to glass doors etched with the Dash signature. Inside is a décor colour scheme of blossom and teal contrasts with a bold black and white diamond flooring throughout.

Customers are welcomed with a 10 metre-plus bar with full-length spirit display and bar stool seating, with restaurant banquettes and stand-alone tables for 125 covers to the left, opposite a spacious bar area and curved booth seating.

The DJ box with backlit Dash signage creates a focal point to the right of the entrance, alongside one of two semi-circular feature booths each seating up to 12. Italian Carrera marble has been used for walls and pillars, accentuated with crystal chandeliers.

A private dining room offers space for private parties of up to 36 guests. The room has its own dedicated server and a dazzling ceiling filled with an expanse of high and low hanging chandeliers.

The restaurant menu features Pan Asian influenced dishes and small plates, while the bar will serve spirits and beers alongside Dash’s signature New York-themed cocktail list.  The list, which comes in a hardback book style, has been created by cocktail consultant and Living Room “alumni” Tom Jones.

His mixes will take customers on a journey through the decades and fashions from Cuban and Prohibition to Manhattan and Disco.

Dean Jones, co-owner of The 15 Group, said the architect-led design had been inspired by his own European trip.

“I was in Paris and went into this particular bar and was absolutely blown away by it,” he explained. “We knew we wanted to do something with Dash that had never been done in Liverpool before and when I saw it I thought, this is it.”
