Developer to start work on £100m key worker and student homes scheme in Liverpool

Merseyside developer Elliot Group has appointed Bolton-based Forrest to build the Aura scheme n the site of the former Erskine Industrial Estate close to the new Royal Hospital. Tony McDonough reports

Aura scheme in Liverpool will provide 142 one and two bedroom apartments for rent, and 1,007 student rooms

 

Work is set to begin on a £100m residential development close to Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter comprising both key worker and student accommodation.

Merseyside developer Elliot Group has appointed Bolton-based Forrest to build the Aura scheme n the site of the former Erskine Industrial Estate.

Among others, accommodation will be available for staff working at the new £450m Royal Hospital next door, as well as new homes for student nurses and doctors.

It will include yoga studios, a residents’ gym, a bar and study zones and will push the boundary of the city’s expanding Knowledge Quarter further north.

The Falconer Chester Hall-designed scheme will rise to 14 storeys at its highest point and comprises two buildings tied together by public realm incorporating mature planting.

It will provide 142 one and two bedroom apartments for rent, and 1,007 student rooms.

Elliot Lawless of Elliot Group, said: “We’re working with Forrest on our residence project in Manchester and I’ve been very impressed with their focus and approach.”

Site hoarding and preparation is currently underway.
