Taylor Wimpey is launching a public consultation over plans to build 500 new homes in St Helens.

It has unveiled proposals for a development on land south of Gartons Lane in the town. The national housebuilder says the homes will come in a range of styles and sizes. And the scheme will also include public open spaces and landscaping.

Now Taylor Wimpey is inviting the local community to find out more during its public consultation. It wants to provide feedback to existing residents in the area to help shape the final proposals.

Ian Harrison, land and planning director at Taylor Wimpey North West, said: “We want to deliver a development that will complement the existing local community.

“We believe that the Gartons Lane neighbourhood will not only contribute to the delivery of much-needed new homes, but will create an attractive, sustainable and long-lasting addition to St Helens. It will offer improved walking and cycling routes to Sutton Manor Woodland.

“We invite the local community to find out more about our plans by attending our public exhibition or visiting our website. They can provide feedback and help us shape our final proposals before a planning application is submitted to St Helens Council.”

Located between Gartons Lane and Sutton Manor, the site has been designated for residential development in St Helens Council’s Local Plan. This aims to see the borough deliver 3,725 homes by 2037.

The public consultation period will run from Monday, July 25, until Monday, August 15. Residents will be able to leave comments, or request further information, by:

  • Visiting the  consultation website and filling in the feedback form at: www.newhomesforgartonslane.co.uk
