Liverpool city region global freight forwarder Trinity Logistics has made a key appointment to its senior team as it gears up for the next stage of expansion.

Trinity was founded by managing director Amanda Unsworth, herself a former dock worker, and she has maintained its status as a female-led venture. Now she has added more executive firepower with the appointment of Lisa Sweeney.

A former executive at Denholm Logistics, Lisa comes with an impressive CV having worked in the maritime and logistics sectors for more than 20 years. She also worked as a senior logistics planner for shipping giant ACL.

Lisa joins Trinity as it gets set to expand its footprint. Already well established in the global freight forwarding shipping space, Trinity is now expanding its road logistics, warehousing and customs services.

Speaking about Lisa’s appointment, Amanda told LBN: “Lisa brings decades of experience and a wealth of knowledge across shipping, customs, warehousing and transport.

“Her vast experience covers everything from pallets and full loads to specialist out-of-gauge project cargo. Awarded CILT student of the year for the UK, Lisa is a true professional who knows the industry inside out.”

In August LBN revealed how Trinity was growing its international reach by looking to capitalise on the growing power of Dubai as a business hub. It has opened an office in the United Arab Emirates city and has already started winning clients.

Amanda has also revealed the return of her now established Power of Women event, which will take place on Friday, February 27, 2026, between 12pm and 6pm at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Liverpool waterfront.

The Power of Women is a celebration of the growing achievements of women in the business arena. It brings together business leaders, entrepreneurs, and changemakers for a day dedicated to “celebrate women in business and beyond”.

Promising a day of “inspiration, connection and celebration”, Amanda says the programme will be “packed with entertainment, surprises, and plenty of fun” and “world class speakers”.

This event will also raise money for a charity that will be revealed in the coming weeks. A headline sponsor has been secured with more partners signing up.

Tickets will be available soon. For sponsorship and partnership opportunities, or for more information, contact Sarah Madden via email: sa**********@*****************co.uk
