Five venues in Liverpool city region secure places on an annual list of the top wedding venues in the UK. Tony McDonough reports
Liverpool is home to five of the top wedding venues in the UK according to an annual list.
Hitched, one of the UK’s leading wedding planning platforms, has announced the winners of its 5th annual Hitched Wedding Awards. Categories included wedding venues, photographers, videography, music & DJ, catering, cars and travel.
Just five city region venues made the top venues list. They are the Lake House Waterloo, Titanic Hotel, Liverpool, Knowsley Hall, Meols Hall Tithe Barn in Southport and the Mercure St Helens.
Owned by Sefton Council, the Lake House underwent an upgrade worth more than £3m. It attracted an influx of weddings in 2025, a 51% increase from 2023/24 with people attracted to its waterside views across Crosby Marine Lake.

Josh Roberts, managing director of The Lake House Waterloo, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be recognised in the Hitched Wedding Awards.
“Weddings are such special, personal occasions, and it’s an honour to know that so many of our couples felt cared for throughout their celebrations with us, whilst also making their big day an unforgettable moment at The Lake House.”
The Hitched awards celebrate excellence across the UK wedding industry, with winners chosen solely based on genuine reviews from recently married couples.
More than 45,000 verified reviews collected in 2025 were analysed across over 31,000 suppliers listed on Hitched, making this accolade one of the most comprehensive and transparent in the UK wedding sector.
To qualify, vendors needed a minimum of seven reviews with an average rating of 4.75/5 between January 1 and December 31, 2025. Each winner is chosen by couples themselves.
