Former theatre school teacher launches early-years learning programme in Liverpool

Bright Minds for Kids will offer a form of accelerated learning that focuses on the early development of children, aged six months to five years. Tony McDonough reports.

Anna Stranack says it’s her goal to help every child grow into creative, thoughtful and intelligent young people

Anna Stranack, a former theatre schoolteacher originally from Childwall, took an interest in whole brain training eight years ago, while working at school in Dubai.

In 2015, with the help of her mum Christina, also a schoolteacher in Merseyside, Anna launched The Bright Minds Institute, and together they have since worked with more than 1,000 young people.

Having identified opportunities to provide learning back in the UK, earlier this month Anna launched Bright Minds for Kids.

She has enlisted two other teachers and says she hopes to replicate successes achieved in Dubai in the Liverpool city region, and already has plans to expand into Cheshire.

Neuroscientific studies show that children’s brains develop connections faster in the first 5 years than at any other time in their lives.

And by the age of three, around 80% of a child’s brain is developed through experiences encountered in those early years. Repeated daily, positive experiences can have a lasting impact for a child, not only on their ability to learn but also on their emotional, social and spiritual development.

Anna has designed an enrichment programme, drawing on scientific evidence of whole brain development that encourages children to think critically whilst developing creativity and empathy.

Bright Minds for Kids will offer 45 minute private, at-home brain training classes on either a group or one-to-one basis.

Anna said: “I’m so passionate about whole brain training and giving children their first stepping stone to developing their creativity, empathy and critical thinking through our carefully crafted curriculum.

“It’s my goal to help every child grow into creative, thoughtful and intelligent young people.”
