Free jobs skills training for Mersey jobseekers

Jobseekers across Liverpool city region can access free skills training thanks to new Government funding. Tony McDonough reports

St Helens Chamber is offering free skills training to people from across the city region

 

St Helens Chamber is offering free skills training to people across Liverpool city region after securing funding through the Government’s adult education budget.

Courses range from accountancy through to warehousing. Experienced training advisers are delivering the sessions. They  will provide advice and support throughout the courses. Any Liverpool city region resident aged 19 or over can access the free sessions.

Training is being delivered across the chamber’s four locations in St Helens. They are St Helens Chamber, Clickworks, the Chamber Hair and Beauty Academy and Construction Training Centre.

Laura Brogden, head of career development at St Helens Chamber, said: “We are proud to be one of 17 training providers who retained this vital funding. The chamber has a great record of success through our free courses. We have supported 1,124 people to learn and develop new skills over the past 12 months.

“The chamber has a strong training team. We strive to deliver the best quality training and give learners the skills that local employers are looking for. Our courses stand out because we work with local employers to find out what skills they need. We ensure that our courses fill these gaps.

“No matter what course learners choose, they will be able to access extra support through our National Careers Service team. They can help with interview skills, CV writing and much more.” 

Training courses will continue to be delivered all year round at St Helens Chamber. Many courses having accredited qualifications on completion. They provide a great way for local jobseekers to get the skills they need to get back into work.
