Liverpool law firm Hill Dickinson has extended its longstanding sponsorship agreement with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic for a further three years.

And, for the first time, the agreement includes support of In Harmony Liverpool, a life-changing programme which uses orchestral music making to improve the life chances of North Liverpool children and their families by increasing confidence, wellbeing, skills and resilience.

Hill Dickinson has now sponsored ‘The Phil’ for a decade and, during this period, more than 32,000 audience members have attended concerts sponsored by the firm. In 2016 Hill Dickinson became Liverpool Philharmonic’s premier sponsor.

And it funded an independent report on Liverpool Philharmonic’s Music and Mental Health Programme which is delivered through an 11-year ongoing partnership with Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust.

The new agreement aligns with the start of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra’s 2019-2020 season in September, through to the end of the 2022/2023 season. In 2019/2020 season, Hill Dickinson will sponsor two concerts led by chief conductor Vasily Petrenko and featuring world-renowned and award-winning Japanese pianist, Nobuyuki Tsujii.

From working with 84 children in 2009, In Harmony Liverpool has supported more than 2,000 children up to the age of 18, their families and community members across Everton and Anfield.

Every week, more than 1,500 children and their families take part in orchestral music-making, free of charge, in and out of school. They perform together in a range of ensembles, including side-by side with musicians of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, at venues including Liverpool Philharmonic Hall and throughout the community.

Hill Dickinson chief executive Peter Jackson said: “We feel incredibly proud to know that our support helps the orchestra carry out such life-enriching work with groups of children in our city who stand to benefit the most and whose lives may be positively impacted in so many ways as a result.”
