LCRCA’s Skills & Apprenticeship Hub launches funded training

Liverpool City Region Combined Authority’s Skills & Apprenticeship Hub has launched fully funded training across a range of key areas to help bridge the skills gap in the region

The Hub will help city region employers upskill their teams

The Hub, funded by the European Social Fund and LCR Strategic Investment Fund, was set up to help employers upskill and reskill their teams, and these fully funded courses are a key part of the training offering.

The new courses will be delivered by seven suppliers from across the region, supporting employers to develop their workforce and connect staff with valuable training to support business growth.

A course in Leadership and Management Performance will be delivered by The Education and Skills Partnership; Business Skills – French will be delivered by Manchester Business; Business Skills – Import/Export will be delivered by Halton Chamber; and Basic Skills – IT will be delivered by Rotunda.

Square One will be delivering courses on both Basic Skills – Visual Basics and Advanced IT Skills; Quantum Vantage will be leading the Hospitality Management course; and Innovative Alliance will be running a course on Hospitality Customer Service Skills.

These new fully funded courses offer businesses in specific sectors, such as hospitality, the chance to develop and grow their teams, but the courses also offer vital training in key areas such as basic and advanced IT, to help improve the digital proficiency of employees working in other sectors.

Joe Keegan,  Team Leader of  the Skills Brokerage Service that forms part of the Skills & Apprenticeship Hub, said: “With an evident skills gap across the region, the fully funded courses we have on offer give businesses in the Liverpool City Region a chance to reskill and upskill their workforce to the required standards, closing this gap.

“The Skills Brokerage Service provides businesses with access to a range of learning and development opportunities, supporting them to invest in their teams.

“When employees progress, this has a positive impact on the success of the business as a whole, so we are very pleased to be able to offer this funded training to organisations.”

With the skills gap in LCR a threat to businesses and their sustainable growth, the Skills and Apprenticeship Hub, along with its training delivery partners, is providing employers with the tools to invest in their workforce, boost their business and positively impact the wider economy of the region.
