Little Lights Liverpool Baby Hospice has announced the appointment of Christian Logue as its first-ever chief executive Officer.

Earlier this year the charity changed its name from Zoe’s Place as it prepares for the opening of its new purpose-built hospice in West Derby in Liverpool at a cost of £6.1m.

Christian Logue arrives at Little Lights Liverpool Baby Hospice with more than 20 years of senior and board level leadership experience across the healthcare, sport and not-for-profit sectors.

With a background in strategy development, operations, transformation and customer experience, Christian brings a wealth of knowledge that will be invaluable to the journey the charity is on.

His appointment comes at a pivotal moment for the charity as it continues its transition to Little Lights and prepares for the opening of its new hospice.

In October 2024 it was revealed the future of the hospice was in doubt. It  needed to raise £5m in 30 days to secure its future. In the end more than 60,000 organisations and individuals raised around £7.4m.

Its new home will focus on strengthening services for babies and children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, while ensuring families continue to receive the highest standard of specialist care and support.

Christian said: “The organisation has an outstanding reputation for providing compassionate care and support to babies, children and families facing some of life’s most difficult challenges, and I feel privileged to have the opportunity to help shape its future.

“Little Lights has a remarkable legacy and an ambitious vision for the years ahead. As we prepare for our move into the new hospice, there is a real opportunity to build on that legacy.”

Founded in 1995 as the UK’s first hospice dedicated to babies and young children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, Zoe’s Place has provided specialist nursing care, respite services and end-of-life support to thousands of families.

As Little Lights, the charity is building on this legacy while creating brighter opportunities for the future.

Karen Livesey, chair of trustees, added: “This is a landmark moment for Little Lights and Christian joins us at a time of enormous opportunity and ambition. His extensive leadership experience, strategic vision and commitment to making a positive difference will be invaluable.”
