Partnership aims to take advantage of the opportunities that exist for enhancing teaching, management, and financing in business development, based upon a shared vision and strong cooperation
LJMU’s Liverpool Business School has entered into a strategic partnership with the Liverpool Commonwealth Association.
The partnership aims to take advantage of the opportunities that exist for enhancing teaching, management, and financing in business development, based upon a shared vision and strong cooperation.
This brings added impetus at a time when there is renewed focus placed upon the Commonwealth, with all of its latent potential in multiple spheres of business, culture, sport, health and education.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the modern Commonwealth, a family of 53 nations with enduring global engagement, bringing practical values with a focus upon friendship and goodwill.
Garth Dallas, chair of the Liverpool Commonwealth Association said: “Liverpool is the Commonwealth City with its diverse cultural legacy and strong sense of community. The Commonwealth represents 2.4bn people, one-third of the population of this planet, 60% of whom are under the age of 30.
“It’s therefore extremely exciting that we are partnering with LJMU’s innovative Liverpool Business School to nurture and develop business talents in a Commonwealth context”
For some time, the Commonwealth has placed continued emphasis upon helping to establish the conditions for growth, working to improve economic governance, transparency and prosperity.
The ‘Commonwealth factor’ makes it on average 19% cheaper to do business between Commonwealth countries thanks to common legal structures and cultural similarities.
English, the world’s business language, is the official language or mother tongue of almost all Commonwealth countries.
Tim Nichol, Dean of Liverpool Business School, added: “We welcome this strategic partnership with Liverpool Commonwealth Association on several important levels but primarily because of the opportunities it creates for international cooperation and practical engagement.
Commonwealth Day is March 11 with a Commonwealth Service to be held on Sunday, March 10 at Our Lady and St. Nicholas, the Parish Church of Liverpool, led by Dr Crispin Pailing, Rector of Liverpool.
