Specialist Liverpool cleaning firm Oliver’s Cleaning acquires Knowsley-based supplier which it has been a customer of for more than 20 years. Tony McDonough reports
Liverpool specialist cleaning firm Oliver’s Cleaning has acquired one of its suppliers.
Law firm Glenville Walker advised Oliver’s Cleaning, which is based on Old Swan, on the purchase of J and L Supplies (North West). The value of the deal was not disclosed but J and L’s most recent accounts reveal net assets of £166,630.
Oliver’s provides specialist cleaning services for clients including estate agents, business owners, schools and the general public. Owner Lee Oliver has been a client of J and L, owned by Derek Brown and Malcolm Lynch, for more than 20 years.
This acquisition represents a strategic move to expand Oliver’s Cleaning’s operations across the North West, building on the strong foundations and successful trading history of J and L Supplies.
Lee said: “After two decades of working with J and L Supplies I’ve seen first-hand the quality of their service and the strength of their customer relationships. The acquisition is a no brainer really. They are both in the same industry so will work in synergy together.
“It’s a business I know inside out, with a proven track record and real potential for growth. We’re excited to invest in expanding across the North West and building on the excellent reputation Derek and Malcolm have established.”
Oliver’s Cleaning identified the acquisition as a natural fit, offering both complementary services and significant potential for growth in the regional market. Derek and Malcolm will stay with the business to support the growth plans for up to five years.
“After many years of building this business, we’re pleased to see it move into the hands of someone who truly understands its value,” added Derek. “Lee has been a trusted customer for two decades, and we’re confident the business will continue to thrive.”

“Lee has spent 20 years understanding this business from the customer side – now he’s positioned to drive its next phase of growth. We’re pleased to have guided him through the process and helped turn this opportunity into reality.”
