We chose Liverpool because it had the right infrastructure, excellent facilities and very good access for our clients, who fly in from all over the world. We canvas our clients for feedback at every Showcase and the response has been very favourable.

“Liverpool has proved to be a popular destination amongst buyers, who have enjoyed some great Showcases here.”

This year, the BBC will be looking to promote channel frontrunners such as Wolf Hall, Jimmy McGovern’s Banished, Rick Stein: From Venice to Istanbul, Britain’s Biggest Adventures with Bear Grylls, as well as popular natural history titles like The Hunt, Atlantic and Shark.

Bob Prattey, chief executive of ACC Liverpool, which includes the ECHO arena, said:

“This is the fourth time that we have hosted BBC Worldwide Showcase and this year we expect a record breaking conference with more than 700 clients from across the globe. The event provides an opportunity for BBC Worldwide to use our venue in a really creative way, transforming the arena and convention centre and providing spectacular surroundings over the four days.

“As well as attending this prestigious event, delegates will explore the city and the economic impact on the region is expected to top £1.8m. We look forward to welcoming back BBC Worldwide for another interesting and successful Showcase.”
