Since its launch in 2022 the UK’s largest property industry expo UKREiiF – the British version of France’s MIPIM – has been held in Leeds but Liverpool is set to become its new home. Tony McDonough reports
Liverpool will become the new home of UKREiiF, the UK’s largest property industry expo, from 2008 in a “massive win” for the city region.
Launched in 2022, UKREiiF was designed to be the British version of MIPIM, the global property expo that takes place in Cannes on the French Riviera every March. UKREiiF normally takes place in May.
Since it started the event, which attracts more than 17,000 delegates every year, has been held at the Royal Armouries Museum and New Dock in Leeds city centre. It will return there in May 2027 but from 2028 Liverpool will be its new home.
Liverpool’s waterfront conference and exhibition complex, Liverpool Experience Campus (formerly ACC Liverpool) has secured a multi-year agreement with the organisers of UKREiiF in a bid supported by partners across Liverpool city region.
Billions of pounds worth of projects and regeneration opportunities are discussed at the event and Liverpool city region Mayor Steve Rotheram described this deal as a “massive win” and “a real vote of confidence in everything we’ve been building together”.
He said: “UKREiiF is the UK’s premier real estate, investment and infrastructure event – and from 2028, it’ll call Liverpool home.
“That means thousands of investors, developers and decision-makers coming here and seeing first-hand the ambition, talent and opportunities right across our city region.”
Thousands of investors, developers, local authorities, government representatives, occupiers and built environment professionals will gather in Liverpool for what has become the UK’s leading property and infrastructure forum.
This successful bid was developed through a partnership involving Liverpool Experience Campus, Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, Liverpool City Council and Liverpool BID Company.

Nathan Spencer, co-founding director and managing director of UKREiiF, added: “UKREiiF has grown enormously since we held our first event in 2022, and the support of people and businesses in Leeds and West Yorkshire has been a massive part of that success – and I truly thank them for all they’ve done for us.
“UKREiiF is now moving into its next chapter, with both domestic growth and international expansion. After reviewing our strategic direction, we believe Liverpool gives us a site and a city region that can support our continued growth.”
