Wirral digital agency Maxweb is taking on a new apprentice after two of its previous trainees secured senior positions with the firm.

Mohamed Jama has been hired as a junior SEO consultant at the business which specialises in services such as app design, web development and branding.

As part of Maxweb’s ongoing apprenticeship scheme, two of the firm’s previous apprentices, Alice Oldrid and Dan Wilson, have gone on to become senior members of the team and Mohamed is keen to follow in their footsteps.

Since starting as apprentices in 2012 Alice Oldrid has progressed to become an account manager and Dan Wilson as a lead developer within the team.

Mohamed’s apprenticeship is being funded by Liverpool City Council Liverpool Ways To Work ILM Employment Subsidy.

Maxweb is run by directors Mark Ainsworth and Liam Bailey , and Liam said: “As a company, we very much believe in developing hard-working and dedicated staff and utilising the skills that exist within the team.

“Having seen first-hand the positive impact that they can have on the individual and the company, we are certainly strong advocates of the benefits of apprenticeship schemes. Our recent appointment of Mohamed has proved to be a great success and he is certainly an excellent fit for Maxweb.

“With his background in copywriting and market research, we ultimately want to develop Mohamed’s skills so that he can lead on our SEO offering. As part of his day-to-day role, he is perfecting his knowledge of the sector, researching and working hard on aspects of the business.”
