Renewable bioenergy specialist Fleetsolve is creating 70 new jobs as it relocates to its new Merseyside headquarters as part of a £150m expansion.
Founded by Keith and Anne O’Connor in 2002, Fleetsolve was a UK pioneer in renewable bioenergy and carbon reduction. It designs, manufactures and operates liquid biofuel combined heat and power (CHP) units.
The units are fuelled using a range of biofuels produced from end of waste liquids – such as oils, fats and greases – to create a renewable fuel, to power a zero-carbon on-site power solution that can exceed the clients carbon reduction targets.
Fleetsolve is relocating its headquarters from Cheshire to 24,500 sq ft site at the Riverview Business Park in Bromborough, Wirral. As part of its three-year growth plan the business will create 70 jobs over the next six months.
The firm is a member company of the global SIMEC group, an international renewable energy, and natural resources business, turning over $3.7billion a year. Fleetsolve also has five centres in Scotland, the North East, South Wales, the Midlands, and London.
Its growth plan is due to a significant upturn in demand for zero-carbon power generation technology. Keith O’Connor, chief executive of Fleetsolve, said: “Our expansion announcement today is only the beginning. Even amid the pandemic, time is of the essence in tackling carbon reduction and global warming.
“Our vision for business sustainability is clear. We are driven to help large UK organisations in both the private and public sectors to meet and exceed their targets for a carbon-zero future. This includes creating local, sustainable jobs in the industry for future generations.
“It’s an ambitious vision and our aim is to attract the best talent to help us take it forward. We are recruiting for various roles but it’s important that candidates are eager to be part of a green future which Fleetsolve is spearheading.”
The Fleetsolve units generate renewable electricity, heat and, when required, cooling simultaneously to all energy needs of a modern building or industrial process. It provides the user with Ofgem-compliant renewable energy at a competitive pence per kilowatt rate.
It works across all major industry sectors, in multiple power critical environments, including amongst others, Tesco Stores, multiple NHS Hospitals, chemical manufacturing plants, hotels, conferencing centres, prisons, schools and universities.
In keeping with the company’s ethos, the new Wirral HQ is being transformed into a carbon zero site using a combination of energy reduction and low carbon generation ready for their move in January.
Paula Basnett, chief executive of Wirral Chamber of Commerce, added: “This really is tremendous and exciting news. With the year we’ve had, the opportunity for large scale job creation and apprenticeships is fantastic news for the area.”
