Miller Home has announced a £1.6 million investment into local infrastructure, services, and improvements that puts people at the heart of projects in St Helens. Tony McDonough reports.
Earlier this year the developer unveiled plans to build more than 300 homes at its 32-acre site in St Helens.
It will bring a mix of one, two, three, and four-bedroom properties to market at Dial House Place and Rookery Place in Rainford. A first look of the homes is earmarked for early October.
This week it has announced significant investments into infrastructure and services, in a plan that aims to offer affordable, sustainable homes and foster more vibrant, diverse and resilient communities.
It will contribute more than £225,000 to the NHS to support local healthcare services and £208,500 has been allocated for the enhancement of parks in Rainford and St Helens area.
A further £114,000 has been committed to secondary education initiatives as well as £15,350 for travel plan monitoring.

It has set aside what it says is a substantial sum and is working with Merseytravel to increase local bus services over a five-year period and each household will receive a one-month bus pass, in support of the Government’s proposals to decarbonise the UK transport system.
It says homes will be highly efficient, incorporating technologies such as photovoltaic panels, wastewater heat recovery, and flue gas heat recovery.
And a proportion of the homes built will be in line with the Future Homes Standards, with no gas boilers and the installation of air-source heat pumps or similar technologies.
