Corporate law firm Napthens is reporting significant rises in revenues and pre-tax profits as it finally puts the impact of a late 2023 IT outage behind it.

Napthens, which has a major office in Liverpool which alone generates millions of pounds, has revealed its results for the 12 months to March 31, 2025, on Companies House.

They reveal a 19% rise in revenues to just under £27m while pre-tax profits soared 62% to £7.3m. The firm’s 25 partners share a bonus pot of around £4.3m with the highest-paid partner pocketing £478,966.

In the previous year Napthens saw profits dip to £4.5m from £5.1m mainly due to an T outage at a third-party contractor which suffered a cyber event in December 2023. This affected multiple law firms across the UK.

Following the incident Napthens said it had put measures in place to mitigate against similar issues in the future.

Employing almost 300 people, Napthens operates in Liverpool, Southport, Preston, Blackburn, Kendal and Lytham. It has a particular focus on social mobility and offers apprenticeships for legal and non-legal careers.

In September 2024 the firm relocated its Liverpool office within Bruntwood SciTech’s The Plaza, taking a 10-year lease on 5,000 sq ft of office space. This was to accommodate ongoing growth of the operation.
