Screwfix is taking the largest unit, 7,000 sq ft, at Mill Lane Trade Park off Edge Lane and will join seven other local businesses when it opens later this month.
National DIY trade supplier Screwfix will be the anchor tenant for a new trade park in Liverpool.
The chain is taking the largest unit, 7,000 sq ft, at Mill Lane Trade Park off Edge Lane. Screwfix will join seven other local businesses when it opens later this month.
The Derwent Group, the developer responsible for the £100m Liverpool Shopping Park, has created Mill Lane Trade Park, which comprises 32,000 sq ft of industrial and trade counter space split across 17 units.
The seven local businesses are former Binns Road Industrial Estate tenants and their relocation enables the developer to transform the former Edge Lane Retail Park and surrounding land into what will be the UK’s largest shopping park once complete.
The park will offer employment for up to 3,000 people and bring 41 retailers to the area.
David Lyons, chief executive of The Derwent Group, said: “From the outset we were keen to make sure that Binns Roads Industrial Estate businesses, many of which have been established in Liverpool for many years, could stay local.
“Mill Lane Trade Park allows us to fulfil our promise to those businesses and sees them relocated to brand new, purpose built premises.
“The arrival of a national brand in Screwfix will help to increase awareness of the park and its businesses and will create strong trading conditions for everyone.”
Richard Ward, director of property at Screwfix, added: “Mill Lane Trade Park gives us a prime location to serve this part of Liverpool and beyond and we’re keen to welcome tradespeople and DIY enthusiasts to the new store.”
Local tenants at Mill Lane Trade Park are Elegant Designed Bedrooms, Wavertree Electrical, McCombe Flowers, Discount Windows, In Car Power, Whittaker Memorials and North West Coatings.
