A new marketing and communications specialist has been appointed by North West charity Alternative Futures Group (AFG) to help drive the organisation forward in an increasingly competitive sector.
Ian Hunter (pictured above) has more than 14 years experience drawn from a variety of fields including the not-for-profit and commercial sectors. This includes working in the media for Channel 4 and managing marketing and communications in the social housing sector, most recently at One Vision Housing in Sefton.
Every year, Alternative Futures Group supports more than 1100 people with learning disabilities and mental health needs. This is achieved by providing around the clock support within the community, in peoples own homes or in one of eight specialist hospitals.
Ian Hunter, senior marketing and communication’s manager said:
“I’m delighted to have joined AFG which is a charity with an excellent reputation and a clear social purpose.
“I look forward to leading and managing AFG’s marketing and communications services to provide a high performing, dynamic and effective service for the charity and the people we support.”
Peter Flynn, Director of Organisational Development at AFG said:
“I’m delighted we’ve been able to attract such an experienced and skilled communicator like Ian to AFG. We now have a talented team in place who can help us meet the exciting plans ahead.
“His specialist skills are vital to enable the charity to get its positive messages across to our staff and also externally.
“This role has potential to make a real difference to both the company and to the people we support.”
