There are around 5.5m small and medium-sized (SME) businesses in the UK but only around 20% are female-led.

According to the Alison Rose report into female entrepreneurship women have the potential to add a further £250bn to the annual value of the UK economy each year with better support.

Earlier this summer the Government announced an investment of £500m in female entrepreneurship via the British Business Bank. It also targeted at targeted at ethnic minorities, people with disabilities and those from deprived backgrounds.

Now Jessica Farrell, chief executive of Liverpool-based PopSugar Social and The Content Co Studio has announced the launch of a new initiative to support emerging female entrepreneurs across Liverpool city region.

Ladies That Lead is a new movement and training academy created to guide and empower women at every stage of their business journey –  whether they’re just starting out or ready to grow and scale.

With years of experience running a successful social media and marketing agency, Jess understands the unique challenges that entrepreneurs – especially women – face when building a business from the ground up.

Her work has helped clients gain high-profile exposure in Forbes, Vogue, British Vogue, OK! Magazine, and Vanity Fair – a testament to her ability to elevate brands through strategic marketing and PR.

“I created The Ladies That Lead because I wish something like this had been available when I was starting out,” says Jessica. “Launching a business can be exciting, but it can also be incredibly lonely.

“This is about giving women the tools, support, and self-belief to lead with confidence and build something they’re truly proud of.”
