Outdoor advertising specialist OPEN Media is to add a new digital screen in Liverpool adding to its portfolio of static screens in the city centre.
The screen, which will be live in time for Christmas, will be located on the new multi storey car park in Victoria Street and will include six major brands – with airline Blue Air being the first to confirm.
It will not only act as a space for commercial advertising, but also a public board with messaging for the people of Liverpool.
Locally-based OPEN Media has been working alongside Liverpool City Council to deliver new income streams into the council via outdoor advertising opportunities.
The firm has now also branched out to Manchester with two sites, and four more digital sites are to be running across Liverpool and Manchester over the next 12 months.
It also has static banners on The Strand, ABC Cinema, Lord Street in Liverpool, and on Chapel Street in Salford.
OPEN Media managing director Mike Smith, who founded the company in 2014 as OPEN Magazine, said: “It has been exciting working with Liverpool City Council to deliver this project so to finally get it up and running is fantastic for us.
“We’re hugely ambitious in our plans for OPEN Media and we want to change the city – bringing something creative to the landscape as well helping it achieve Smart City status.”
The company has worked alongside a wide range of international brands such as Jaguar Land Rover and JD Sports, while also collaborating locally with the likes of Liverpool Gin.
Its expansion has meant it has been able to double its workforce since the beginning of 2017.
OPEN Media has employed two people this year after collaborating with a local social enterprise to develop and empower young people, with a further two people joining the team in early 2018.
